Travel: Experience Forte Dei Marmi as a Local

Travel: Experience Forte Dei Marmi as a Local

Forte dei Marmi is lined with beach clubs also known as "Bagni", each with perfectly cured sand, typical cabinas and colorful umbrellas. For a see-and-be-seen experience, head to Bagno Santa Maria, otherwise, if you want to taste the tradition of Forte check out any Bagno around the center.

My Favorites: Bagno America, Bagno Piemonte or Bagno Giovanni

Join the locals and ride a bike around town. It's the easiest and fastest way to move around. You can also get lost between the shining windows of the local boutiques. The pedestrian area offers high-end brands and more affordable shops such as artisans and beachwear stores.

On Wednesday and Sunday, you must browse cashmere sweatshirts and goods at the local market located in Piazza Marconi.

If you are looking for a chill Apertivo, go straight from the beach to Alle Boe located right next to Bagno Piero. Instead, if you are already dressed up, choose any cafe/bar around the pedestrian center such as Il Giardino, Bar Principe ( just renovated  by Miuccia Prada )  or Caffe Soldi.
For a sunset-view kind of experience head to the rooftop of Principe Hotel ( it's priceyyy and filled with international people ).

Restaurants are always crowded and very busy. Make sure to reserve a table few days in advance. For a "feet on the sand" kind of experience, check out Bagno Ristorante Gilda or enjoy a spaghetti with clams at Bagno Bruno
If you are feeling to stay home and just want to order pizza or have an healthy salad, check out Pizzeria Alfiero - located just few miles away from Forte, but the drivers deliver in just a few.
If you are a “Forte Habitué” or just a tourist in Versilia, you should put your bike on the side and drive to the hill to experience unforgettable dinners. Situated in the hills of Massa, ristorante il Trillo occupies an old house that is home to the estate’s wine cellars. A charming atmosphere dominated by lemon trees and a cuisine full of flavors from the traditional Massese specialties.

My Favorites for dinner:  Trattoria Tre Stelle, Lorenzo RistoranteRistorante Maitò,

My Favorites for lunch: Pizzeria Fuorirotta, Da Valè, Sanamente

Nightlife? Forte is not famous for "crazy nightclubs". Occasionally, it happens to see international celebrities such as Leonardo Di Caprio at Twiga ( popping out bottles )  or Italian tv personalities at La Capannina di Franceschi singing 80's songs.

My Favorite late night bar: Freak Cafe - Marguttiana
The moment you step in, you feel the Vintage Cali vibes: unique pieces of art inside, live jazz music on the outdoor and a large manu from fresh juices for breakfast to outstanding cocktails available until 3 am.

If you are a sport addict, this town is the best place to run around and feel safe. You can also reach the mountains by bike or play a tennis/padel match - make sure to book a court on time! They are always packed.

My Favorite sportclub: Tennis Club Italia
