A Taste of Milan: Easter Season

A Taste of Milan: Easter Season

The scent of flowers in the air, the urge to stay outside a little longer, lingering over aperitivi in the sun. It’s fresh fruit, lighter days, and that quiet shift into spring.

It’s also the season of Colomba.
The one dessert that suddenly takes over every pastry shop window; soft, golden, beautifully wrapped. My personal favorite is from Romanengo: delicate, refined, with that subtle citrus note that feels both nostalgic and elegant.

And honestly, I think we should stop treating it as just an Easter cake.
If Americans can eat panettone all year round, why shouldn’t we do the same with colomba?

But Easter in Milan is not only about food. It’s about a different rhythm.

As soon as you have a day off, the best thing you can do is leave the city; even just for a few hours. The lakes are always the answer. Lake Maggiore (my beloved Stresa) or Lake Como: places where it becomes incredibly easy to switch off, breathe, and reset.

And if you stay in the city, the idea remains the same:
take time for yourself.

Whether it’s a relaxing massage at YouOff, or even something simpler like a beauty stop at Sephora, allowing yourself a small “treat yourself” moment is essential. Not as a luxury, but as a way to slow down and reconnect.

Because that’s what this season is really about.
Not rushing, not overplanning, but enjoying things as they come.

Easter, after all, is an invitation.
To pause. To breathe. To enjoy.

Long live spring. Let’s take it slowly.
