NYC Notes: Le Orsine Fav Spots in the City
NYC Notes: Le Orsine's Favorite Spots in New York City
New York City through Milanese eyes. We've put together our favorite addresses across the five boroughs — the places we return to every time we're in the city, and a few newer discoveries worth seeking out.
Coffee
Blue Bottle Coffee is a safe bet in multiple neighborhoods. For something more local, Cafe Grumpy in Chelsea and Think Coffee near NYU are excellent. If you're in the West Village, Partners Coffee is a ritual.
Brunch
Balthazar in Soho remains the quintessential New York brunch experience — arrive early or book in advance. Sadelle's in Soho is equally reliable for a more upscale spread. For a neighborhood feel, Rosemary's in the West Village is consistently good.
Galleries and Museums
The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the MoMA are always worth returning to. For contemporary art, the Gagosian and David Zwirner galleries in Chelsea are where the serious action is.
Shopping
The Strand Bookstore on Broadway is an essential stop. For independent fashion, wander through NoLIta and the boutiques along Mulberry Street. McNally Jackson is our favorite bookshop for gifts and reading inspiration.
Evening
Dante in the West Village for aperitivo, Via Carota for a perfect Italian dinner (book weeks in advance), and Employees Only for cocktails late into the night.
